Our Pack

The Boys
Stirling - Garcin Ranch
Stirling is our foundation sire and we are so proud to be able to build a legacy of amazing McNab dogs from his bloodlines.
He was bred by Teri Garcin and has been with us for 9 years. He has spent his entire life as an active working ranch dog, moving cows, sheep and goats as well as accompanying us on mounted backpacking trips in rugged country through the United States.
Stirling is exceptional in many ways, but where he truly shines is his temperament. He is simply a pleasure to be around at all times. He is the singular most trustworthy animal we have ever had the privilege of owning - with other animals, children or strangers. Now, this doesn't mean he is an extrovert - he has all the typical McNab reserve and desire to protect his ranch, but he simply has never put a foot wrong when assessing when or how to correct another dog, or if a stranger is a threat or not.
Stirling is on the larger side of the McNab structure - weighing in at 55lbs. He is stocky, even a bit cobby in his structure, with a short double coat that wicks mud/sand or whatever unmentionable he gets into, off like magic. As he has gotten older he has consistently remained strong and injury free despite his high activity levels and the occasionally grumpy goat - "the proof is in the dog" on this one. His confirmation is simply exactly what it should be to keep his body going in pace with his mind day after day.
He has a very clean, quiet and elegant style to him as a working dog - a little more traditionally border collie than some McNabs but he is not afraid to get in close or have a bite if that's what is necessary to move a hoof or two along.
He is not the "highest energy" McNab we've been around. He's happy to chill in the house, and has an appropriate "off switch", however his stamina has never faltered and we have no doubt he'll produce very high quality ranching stock. Stirling's puppies will likely excel in a variety of areas, including agility, obedience/rally aside from just ranch work.
Truly a gentleman among ranch dogs with the versatility we love so much about his breed ... we cannot wait to see what he produces this year.

The Girls
Elsa - Garcin Ranch
Elsa is our foundation dam and in partnership with Teri Garcin with Garcin Ranch McNabs we are thrilled to not only have Elsa in our pack, but also to be able to build an amazing legacy of our own through her bloodlines.
Elsa while only two years old is the living embodiment of a lifetime of breeding experience and knowledge by Garcin Ranch, and demonstrates everything that makes this breed the incredible asset to ranchers that they truly are.
Elsa is the real deal with serious drive, serious energy and major stamina. There is not a head of livestock that this dog couldn't move. She quite simply is one of the most courageous young dogs we've had the privilege of training and owning; she simply does not give up. She has an appropriate amount of bite, but also has a lovely wear on her stock as she gets them moving along. Truly just the quintessential working dog who just doesn't believe in taking time off. Always in motion and always checking things off her list.
She does it all, however, with an endlessly wagging tail. We've never seen a dog so serious about their work show so openly how much they LOVE their work.
Elsa is a big female, coming in at 50lbs, with a tight short coat and cute tri color splashes.
We expect her to produce dogs capable of intense ranch work and other other variety of serious canine competition or training. Elsa herself would have made a TREMENDOUS search and rescue dog and we suspect she will pass that on in one form or fashion to her offspring.
